Provides steps to identify and resolve issues causing slow performance on macOS.
Steps:
Check for Background Processes:
- Open Activity Monitor (found in Applications > Utilities) to view resource-heavy processes. Sort by CPU or Memory usage, and close unnecessary apps.

Free Up Disk Space:
- Go to Apple menu > About This Mac > Storage and click Manage. Review files and apps that can be deleted to free up space.

Restart Your Mac:
- Regular restarts can clear cached data and refresh system performance. Click Apple menu > Restart.

Disable Login Items:
- Open System Preferences > Users & Groups. Select your account, then Login Items. Remove unnecessary apps by selecting and clicking the minus (–) button.

Reset SMC and PRAM/NVRAM (Intel-based Macs only):
- For SMC reset, shut down the Mac, press Shift + Control + Option + Power button, hold for 10 seconds, then release.
- For PRAM/NVRAM, restart and hold Command + Option + P + R for 20 seconds.
