Objective:
This guide assists users with setting up or troubleshooting external peripherals like monitors, keyboards, and mice.

Steps:

  1. Check Physical Connections

    • Ensure all cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB) are securely connected to the correct ports.
    • For wireless devices, confirm that Bluetooth is turned on, or if using a dongle, ensure it’s plugged in correctly.

  2. Update Drivers

    • For Windows:
      • Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start menu.
      • Expand the section for the peripheral (e.g., Monitors, Keyboards, Mice and other pointing devices).
      • Right-click on the device and choose Update driver > Search automatically for updated driver software.
    • For macOS:
      • Go to System Preferences > Software Update to check for hardware-specific updates.

  3. Check Display Settings (Monitors Only)

    • On Windows:
      • Right-click the desktop and select Display settings.
      • Ensure the correct monitor is selected and adjust resolution if needed.
    • On macOS:
      • Open System Preferences > Displays, and adjust resolution and display arrangement.

  4. Replace Batteries (Wireless Devices)

    • For wireless keyboards or mice, replace the batteries if the device is unresponsive or intermittently working.
