Objective:
Explains how to add an Office 365 account to the Apple Mail app on an iPhone or iPad, enabling access to email, calendar, and contacts.


Steps:


Step 1: Open Settings

  1. Access Settings:

    • On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app from your Home screen.
  2. Go to Mail Settings:

    • Scroll down and tap Mail. This may be in the Apps section on newer iPhones.
  3. Access Accounts:

    • Tap Mail Accounts and then select Add Account.

Step 2: Add Your Office 365 Account

  1. Select Account Type:

    • Tap Microsoft Exchange from the list of available account types.
  2. Enter Your Email Address:

  3. Choose Sign-In Method:

    • A pop-up will ask if you want to configure the account manually or sign in. Tap Sign In.
  4. Authenticate Your Account:

    • You will be redirected to the Microsoft 365 sign-in page:
      • Enter your Office 365 password.
      • If Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is enabled, follow the verification steps (e.g., approve the sign-in via the Microsoft Authenticator app).

Step 3: Configure Sync Settings

  1. Choose What to Sync:

    • After successfully signing in, you’ll see options to enable or disable syncing for:
      • Mail
      • Contacts
      • Calendars
      • Reminders
    • Toggle the switches for the items you want to sync and tap Save.
  2. Finish Setup:

    • Your Office 365 account will now be added to the Apple Mail app, and syncing will begin immediately.

Step 4: Access Your Emails

  1. Open the Apple Mail App:

    • Launch the Mail app from your Home screen.
  2. View Your Inbox:

    • Your Office 365 account should appear as one of the available mailboxes. Tap the account to view your emails.

  • Notifications:

    • To customise notifications for your Office 365 account, go to Settings > Notifications > Mail and configure preferences for your account.
  • Troubleshooting:

    • If you encounter issues during setup:
      • Verify your email address and password.
      • Confirm that your Office 365 account is active and enabled for mobile access.
      • Restart your device and try adding the account again.
  • Removing an Account:

    • To remove an Office 365 account, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts, select the account, and tap Delete Account.
